Welcome 2013!!

Happy 2013! May this be another great year for you and me!

New year, new resolutions. Of course, I have mine too. What is yours? Is it to earn more money this year? To finally have the 6-pack you've been yearning for, for the past 5 years? Well, time to get to it! The power is now and why not start the new year with a good 100 or even 1000 crunches? The earlier we realize that we are living a consumerism live style the faster we can go out there and create something, and make meaning of your lives. Do not wait for the death knell before you start crying over lost time yo! This are my resolutions

1. Health: The body is a temple. Since when have I begun to start abusing my body so much that I feel lethargic almost everyday. Although I am getting better last year, there are modifications that need to be made this year:

  • Sleep: Ah one of the most important source of energy. I need to make sure to be in bed by 12 am every night. Every minute that I stay awake, is every minute that I will lose the next day
  • Food: Eat breakfast, eat healthier! Do not over eat and stop when I'm full.
  • Alcohol: Drink less and I mean less per session. I know over consumption gives me stomache problems but I just can't stop. Really need to drink water every glass of beer/alcoholic beverage, perhaps 2 : 1 water per alcoholic beverage.
  • Water: Drink lots! Don't be lazy about it.

2. Physical condition: This focuses more on exercises and strength so that I can do more than I am able to.
  • Yoga: Do lots and lots!
  • Aikido: 3 days per week per usual. Be extra mindful during aikido.
3. Mental condition: The mind is like a blade that needs to be sharpened consistently.

  • Reddit: Browse less and if do at all skip comments altogether unless necessary.
  • Entertainment: Limit 1 hour a day if at all.
  • Read books: Need to draw a list of books to read.
  • Keep up with the blog: At least one article per week, write write write! (Read Elements of Style)
  • Meditation: 20 mins twice a day. No compromise
  • Photography: Practice two 1 hour sessions per week at least.
 4. Career:

  • Read at least 3 papers a week
  • Write reviews on: Nrf2, p62 in ALS and autophagy.
  • Make a good notebook on what I did everyday and have a reflection every week!
  • Learn Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
5 . Miscellaneous:

  • Listen: It is a skill I have longed to develop but unable to, at least not yet!
  • Have a reflection day every week on life in general!
  • 3 gratitudes every day!

There are my resolutions of 2013 in general! They are not much but I only strive to improve and maintain what I had started last year. Most importantly be happy!

P.S. Be better and keeping in touch with family and friends! :) and be less of a consumer T.T
